2008 National Challenge
Welcome to the 2008 National Challenge. It is designed to encourage folks to don a "new" hat and jump into the performance / field world with their favorite brown curly friend (or friends). All Irish Water Spaniels and owners are welcome! The challenge is being sponsored by the Lake Erie Irish Water Spaniel Club, but all proceeds will go to the Irish Water Spaniel Rescue in the name of the participant. The "fee" to participate is $25.00 (US funds) per dog. There is an early bird rate of $15.00 per dog if the fee is received by October 1, 2007.
All participants are urged to enter his/her select event(s) at the 2008 National in Perry, Georgia, but it is not a requirement. All scores earned after the "participation" fee is received will be counted. The challenge will begin on Saturday, September 1, 2007 and will end on Thursday, April 10, 2008. All prizes will be distributed at the IWSCA banquet. Those unable to attend will need to make arrangements with the sponsors to receive the prize.
Venues:
Any performance or field event that is offered during the National is included
in the challenge (Tracking, Obedience,
Rally, Agility, and
WC / WCX.). While we certainly hope that
some "old" timers will dust off their skills and strut their stuff
- we want to urge all newbie's (Novice A) to step up and throw your hat
in the competition.
Anyone may donate a prize. The donor will develop the criteria for the prize. LEIWSC will tally the scores and make them available throughout the contest. Please be sure to specify if you are awarding the "first," the "highest" or the "most" in order to break a tie.
